The new Drangar Country Guesthouse is on a repurposed farm, well-situated on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, bordering Dalir, a mere two-hour drive from Reykjavik. We are midway between the beautiful towns of Stykkisholmur and Budardalur, which offer quality restaurants, services and recreational opportunities.
We have renovated two buildings in a unique style which celebrates the past and welcomes a modern vision. The Cow Barn is an architectural marvel with six double rooms, two triple rooms, and a common area with an expansive view of the ocean. The Tractor Shed houses four unique double rooms, two of which include kitchenettes, and all Tractor Shed rooms offer access to a full shared kitchen. All 12 of our rooms feature en suite bathrooms.
Drangar won the 2020 Icelandic Design Award, recognizing the ambitious transformation designed and executed by Studio Granda. Additionally, our architecture was nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2022.
