We opened our guesthouse in June 2011. We started with 16 rooms in our beautiful bequeathed family land surrounded by the ocean, mountains and of course with our horses, all the family being accomplished and passionate riders. In 2014, we inaugurated a new modern building with 11 beautiful rooms, increasing our capacity to 27 rooms in total. Kast Guesthouse is a family owner and run, with the help (only in high season) of very experienced individuals from all over the world who fell in love with iceland and what it has to offer, and are willing to give you their best advice and recommendations on what to do and see in their backyard.

Thor Photography specializes in photography tours and workshops. It is our goal to get you to unique locations at the right time for the best photographic results. Thorarinn Jonsson (Thor for short) is a professional landscape photographer leading workshops both in Iceland and internationally. Our goal is for you to bring home captivating images from your tour. We'll do our best to bring you to the right location based on weather, light and conditions in general. All our tours are teaching based where we will go over all aspects of capturing great images like camera settings, using filters, long exposure photography, what lens to use and ect.  Whether you are a beginner or a professional we'll customize our tour to your needs.

We offer two types of outdoor experiences, where you get to know different aspects of our beautiful farm.  The ever-popular GOATWALK with the  Hobbit-goats Gandalf, Frodo, Sam and friends. The Goatwalk is a one hour-long easy walk along a riverbank in the company of friendly tamed goats. It is suitable for individuals or  groups who like animals and outdoor activities and want to experience something completely different. The second one is the experience: ALONG THE CAIRN PATH. It is in the spirit of Meet the locals  – with the farmer as a storyteller on the settlement farm Gufuá. A 2 hours walk at a comfortable walking speed, designed for groups. Extremely fun and informative entertainment where the farmer opens the door to his farm and looks at the past, the present and the future.

1-2 hour riding tours in beautiful surroundings on the banks of the Hvitá River, which is a glacial river flowing from Eiriksjökull Glacier. There are excellent facilities in a brand new riding arena which is specially designed for wheel chair users and the disabled. Horses of all capabilities. Dalahestar horse rental is a small, family owned business. We offer personalized tours for individuals or smaller groups. Our main tours are alongside the beautiful river Laxá and down to the black sandshores of Hvammfjörður fjord and a beach tour that goes further into the fjord with the possibility of seeing seals as well as the white tailed eagle.  Please contact for tours and booking information.

Hestamiðstöðin Borgartún offers 1-2 hour riding tours in a beautiful nature on the outskirts of Akranes. Our tours are a wonderful experience for all those who want to try riding the Icelandic horse. Whether you are novice or experienced riders, young or old, these friendly horses with their nimble and willing nature are a pleasure to ride in their natural environment. We specialize in smaller groups with a personalized service and we are open all year round. When the weather is not on our side we can always ride inside.

For those who desire more physical activity we offer a half day tour to the caves end.  Caves are often dark, tight and uninviting places; how ever this is not the case in Víðgelmir lava cave. What used to be slow traveled rugged terrain is now easy and enjoyable. Leading from one great hall to the next our path is lit slightly flowing through this magical underworld.

Láki Tours offers responsible whale watching tours from Ólafsvík in Snæfellsnes. We also offer whale watching tours from Hólmavík in the Westfjords.  Whale Watching from Ólafsvík West Iceland is a paradise for whale enthusiasts and famous for its unique whale species. Snæfellsnes is the only area in Iceland where orcas are seen regularly. Another unique species around Snæfellsnes are sperm whales. Sperm whales are the largest toothed whales in the world and one of the deepest diving whales. Other species we reguluarly see on our whale trips are humpback whales, minke whales, pilot whales, and white-beaked dolphins. Söðulsholt travel service offers accommodation and horse rental activity. Our accommodation include 4 premium cottages, each sleeping 4 people comfortably. Each cottage include one double bedroom, two twin beds in the upper loft, fully-equipped kitchen, sitting area, bathroom w/shower and outside seating area. A "Weber" grill is available for your use. A minimum stay of two-three nights is required. We offer our guests short riding tours and access to a private river where guests may fish for salmon/trout (extra fee). Led by a knowledgeable local guide in English, this year-round tour begins with a short ride from the Hotel Húsafell to the trailhead in the remote Icelandic Highlands. On this 2-hour tour we enjoy a relaxed walk among natural wonders not found in many guidebooks, including the spectacular two-tiered waterfall Langifoss. We’ll also learn about Iceland’s renewable energy practices, cross an icy stream of glacial meltwater and see the site to Ok jökull, Iceland’s first glacier claimed by climate change. The highlight of our excursion is a serene soak in the recently completed Húsafell Canyon Baths, a surreal hot spring paradise that must be seen to be believed. Enjoy half an hour of relaxing, recharging and breathing in the pure Icelandic air before heading back to Hotel Húsafell.  While the tour is not technically demanding, it does require the participant to walk un-aided over uneven terrain as well as down 64 steps to the canyon floor to reach the baths.  Please contact for tours and booking information.

The cave itself is an 8000 year old lava tube created by volcanic eruption from a nearby crater in the Purkhólar crater family. As the lava rushed down the hill in a lava river it began to cool on the surface, creating a crust on top of the lava river. As the eruption stopped, all the lava from underneath this crust continued to drain out. That eventually left behind empty tube with roof on top that gradually cooled down. We offer 45 minute guided tours to Vatnshellir Cave.

We run sea kayak trips from the small fishing village of Stykkishólmur on the beautiful Snæfellsnes peninsula in Western Iceland. We are just a 2-hour drive from Reykjavik city. Our main focus is day trips for small groups along the coastline of Breidafjordur bay to get close to nature and wildlife. This two-hour sea kayak tour is the perfect opportunity to experience Iceland's nature and wildlife at its very best. On this personalised tour we teach clients the basic skills of kayaking before heading off in search of puffins and seals and to explore an abandoned shipwreck and learn about the fascinating history and geology of the wild and rugged Snæfellsnes peninsula.

Want to get to know the Icelandic horse? The Visiting HorseFarm at Sturlu-Reykir (route 518) is a good place to do so. It specializes in welcoming those who just want to meet this world-famous breed in a friendly environment. Visiting HorseFarm is run by the couple Hrafnhildur and Jóhannes who have been practicing horsemanship all their lives in Borgarfjörður.
