Bjarg Borgarnes is small and cosy family-run guesthouse in old farmhouse on the outskirts of Borgarnes town. The old farmhouse which formerly housed sheep, horses, and chicken has been renovated as a guesthouse. Accommodation is in a 4 pers. studio apartment with private kitchen and bathroom facilities, in another separate space with two double rooms and one 4 pers. room, with shared cooking and WC/shower facilities. The third option is a cottage (81m2) with two double/twin rooms, a sofa bed in the living room, a bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen, dining room, and with a wonderful view over the Borgarfjörður fjord. Miðhraun - Lava resort is a family-run company owned by the Miðhraun family, established in 1988.  Accommodation for up to 110 persons, cottages, apartments and houses. Suitable for both individuals and groups.  Breakfast buffet and dinner menu served at our restaurant Hlaðan.  The location is quiet, family-friendly, and only a 1,5h drive from Reykjavík.  Farm animals, lava fields, mountains, geothermal baths and sauna make the atmosphere adventurous.  When staying at Miðhraun you can hike on the mountain Ljósufjöll or Rauðakúla or take a shorter hike in the area.
