Public Toilets on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula
We encourage travellers to plan their journeys with awareness of where services and public toilets are available.
On the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, great effort is made to provide good facilities for guests. Public authorities operate around 50 public toilets across the peninsula.
Of these, over 20 are accessible 24/7, year-round, while about 20 others are connected to public service units and are open during the advertised hours of each location.
Please make use of the facilities provided and show respect for the environment you travel through. Relieving yourself in nature is not acceptable – it shows a lack of respect for the land, the local population, and fellow travellers.
See the map below for an overview and locations of publicly operated toilets:
NOTE: Most cafés, restaurants and other service providers with in-site dining also offer access to restrooms for their guests.
We kindly encourage you to take breaks where such services are available, enjoy local food and support local businesses – while making use of the facilities they provide.
